Educational Director, Baccalaureate Nursing Program
About the role
The UMass Lowell Susan and Alan Solomont School of Nursing (SSON) is seeking an Educational Director for its Baccalaureate Nursing Program. The role includes leadership, curriculum integrity, faculty and student oversight, regulatory compliance, and overall program success for the baccalaureate nursing program, in accordance with Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (MA BORN) 244 CMR 6.00 regulations, including 244 CMR 6.04 (2)(a).
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee curriculum development, implementation, evaluation, and revision, to ensure alignment with MA BORN, CCNE standards, and current nursing competencies.
- Ensure curriculum integrity through continuous review and quality improvement.
- Oversee data-informed program assessment.
- Direct evaluation processes.
- In collaboration with the Chair, inform program budget, resource allocation, and technology investments, including management of ATI platform.
- Support faculty with student-learning concerns, remediation plans, and academic integrity cases.
- Maintain adequate clinical placements, develop new clinical sites, and ensure clinical partnerships meet required standards.
- Manage the administration and review of student and alumni surveys.
- Work with the school's chair, faculty & governance to ensure the program meets all regulatory requirements, maintain the annual reviews and Master Evaluation plans, and submit required documents for program reviews, visits & regulatory monitoring.
- Ensure full-time and adjunct faculty meet qualifications required by the MA BORN.
- Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty, ensuring MA BORN credentialing compliance.
- Conduct adjunct faculty evaluations and document performance.
- Provide mentorship and support professional development of adjunct faculty.
- Coordinate and administer clinical orientation for full-time and adjunct faculty each semester.
- Assign teaching to faculty in the Baccalaureate program and complete the course master schedule for fall, spring, and summer classes.
- Other administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license.
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Minimum of 5 years full-time nursing experience with at least three years full-time experience, or its equivalent, in nursing education in either: a nursing education program designed to prepare a graduate to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse; or a post-licensure graduate nursing education program.
- Knowledge of MA BORN regulations (244 CMR 6.00), AACN and CCNE.
- Demonstrated competency in curriculum development and program evaluation.
- Expertise with accreditation, assessment, and curriculum design.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (such as Canvas) and educational technology including ATI platforms or ability to learn within 3 months of hire.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office suite, including Excel (required).

Pay
Anticipated salary range based on minimum: $94,293, 25th quartile $108,437 and midpoint of $122,581.
Schedule
This position is full-time benefited and in the SEIU Professional Union in grade P21.
