Director, Nursing Program
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
- Graduate degree with a major in nursing
- Doctoral degree with a major in nursing, education, public health, administration, or related field
- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
Experience:
- Five (5) years of experience teaching in a registered nurse program
Prior to Preferred Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
- CNE Certification
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience as an administrator in a registered nurse program
- Nursing program accreditation experience
Core Duties and Responsibilities
1. Leadership, supervision and administration of academic functions.
2. Membership in the Center for Nursing Education administrative team
3. Serve as student academic officer
4. Hiring, supervising, and evaluating faculty; assignment of workloads
5. Revision, development, and implementation of curriculum
6. Development, analysis, review, and revision of tests
7. Assessment of faculty and student outcomes
8. Continuous improvement and program evaluation
9. Oversight of student advising assignments
10. Initiatives for student recruiting and retention
11. Oversight of academic events and student activities
12. Focus on customer service, professionalism, student advocacy, and student satisfaction
13. Collection, analysis, and dissemination of data; production of reports
14. Participation in accreditation preparation
15. Compliance with Title IX, Title IV, WV RN Board, ACEN accreditation, FERPA, HIPAA, other related regulations
16. Strategic planning and development of strategic goals
17. Coordination of clinical sites and scheduling
18. Faculty development and mentoring
19. Teaching up to 3 credit equivalents per semester (fall, spring and summer)
20. Advising AVP, Nursing Education regarding budget
