Job Order

Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.63 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This position is located at 141 Storage Road, Rocky Mount, NC. NC DHHS Division of Public Health – Rocky Mount Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CSDA) is seeking a full-time Educational Diagnostician to provide eligibility evaluations for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program. The selected candidate will be needed to assist with meeting timelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Management Preferences

  • General knowledge of classroom techniques and academic activities at each educational level.
  • Considerable knowledge of educational measurements for children with special learning problems.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices of psychology as applied to children with special problems.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in interpreting tests and appraising children's activities thus making sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to prepare concise narrative summaries on diagnostic findings and to interpret findings to staff planning conferences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, as well as professionals.

Minimum Education and Experience

Master's degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution, and two years of experience as a school psychologist; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
