Educational Aide (Prekindergarten).

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement. Proof of U.S. Citizenship and direct deposit of pay are required. Appointment is subject to a suitability/fitness determination and a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation with Childcare Checks.

Responsibilities

• Participates in home visits, parent-teacher conferences, and other meetings
• Ensures continuity of program in teacher’s absence
• Monitors students during various phases of the school day
• Maintains a clean and organized learning environment
• Prepares instructional materials related to classroom lessons
• Assists with teaching personal care routines: feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Operates instructional equipment and technology devices
• Accompanies/supervises students on field trips
• Produces material to display educational objectives to class
• Applies assistive technology for recording student data

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Two-year trial period may be required
• One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of an Educational Aide

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

• To qualify based on experience, your resume must describe at least one year of relevant general experience
• Education may be substituted for general experience with 2 years (60 semester hours) of education above high school
• A combination of education and general experience may be used to qualify if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%

Foreign degrees and coursework from non-accredited institutions must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), a regionally accredited university, or a state department of education for teacher certification.
