About the role
The Agency of Education (AOE) is seeking qualified candidates to serve as an Education Transition Support Specialist, focusing on supporting major legislative initiatives related to school facilities. This role will manage and coordinate Agency supports for key elements of school facilities management, integration, and consolidation, aligning with state education transformation goals.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the education field to provide facilities data and information, identify potential resources, and support consideration of various facilities options.
- Facilitate discussions with, and recommend solutions to, school and district leadership regarding resource reorganization in alignment with statewide education goals and policy changes.
- Engage with district leaders and subject matter experts to support organizational planning strategies and ensure an effective use of resources, integration of business processes, and creation of training materials for field partners.
- Utilize existing data or regulations, such as District and Education Quality Standards, to identify and implement supports.
- Provide direct testimony to the Vermont legislature to inform major policy changes related to education finance, governance, and accountability.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with school facilities management (or similar).
- Experience analyzing complex activities, relationships, and situations, identifying problems, drawing logical conclusions, and developing and defending independent recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education, organizational development, business, public administration, continuous improvement, or related field AND four (4) years or more of experience in change management or organizational development that includes experience in the basic concepts of process improvement, strategic planning, organizational redesign, change management, and performance analysis.
- OR Eight (8) years or more of experience in change management or organizational development that includes experience in the basic concepts of process improvement, strategic planning, organizational redesign, change management, and performance analysis.

Pay
Total compensation for this position includes a competitive salary and a range of additional benefits valued at approximately 30% of the total compensation.
Schedule
Work is performed in a standard office setting, with some in-state travel required.
