Education Support Professionals
About the role
The Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District is hiring various Education Support Professionals (ESP) for the 2026-27 academic school year. ESPs are hired as district-wide employees, and are assigned to a classroom upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Support and carry out instruction designed by general and special educators to meet the individual needs of students with or without disabilities in a calm and non-reactionary manner.
- Directly involved in assisting the educator to achieve student success. May include but not limited to:
- Working with students on IEP goals
- Monitoring and documenting student progress
- Regular communication with the classroom teacher(s) and/or service providers
- Reinforce learning or skills initially outlined by the lead teacher
- Follow instructions on behavioral and educational accommodations
- Follow behavior intervention plans as directed
- Record/collect student data in collaboration with special education teachers and service providers
- Accompany students to snack, recess, lunch and specialists
- Report academic and behavioral issues to lead teacher
- Assistance with student personal care including toileting, changing etc.
- Motivate students with positive reinforcement and follow behavior support plans
- Implement de-escalation strategies to resolve behavioral issues or conflicts in an effort ensure safety
- Understand boundaries, confidentiality, and diplomacy with students, colleagues, families and community members
- Other duties as assigned or needed
- Specific responsibilities for substantially separate classrooms may include:
- Communicate clearly to various groups of education professionals including but not limited to Special Education Teachers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, and Administration
- Complete job tasks with sensitivity and confidentiality to students
- Report data and work orally or in writing as needed
- Restraining students during certain behavioral outbursts (CPI training)
- Toileting/changing tasks including full diapering
Requirements
Standing, sitting, bending, and lifting as needed. Light to medium physical requirement.
Qualifications
Preferences on classroom settings will be taken into consideration during initial screenings. ESPs can be reassigned during the academic school year based on district needs at any point.
Skills
Communication, confidentiality, and diplomacy with students, colleagues, families and community members. Specific skills may vary depending on the classroom assignment.
