About the role

The education research specialist will support the work of the Education Resource Center at Penn State Greater Allegheny by assisting with the design, implementation, and evaluation of technical assistance programs and professional development activities that support career and technical education in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of technical assistance programs and professional development activities that support career and technical education in Pennsylvania.
  • Provide high-level research and data analysis support in conjunction with other members of ERC staff and the PA Department of Education Bureau of Career and Technical Education, to ensure that projects and programming are high quality and evidence-based.
  • Create case studies, policy briefs, and memos that will advance best practices in career and technical education across Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with state agencies in Pennsylvania to develop policies and strategies to support workforce development and/or education initiatives required.
  • Experience authoring research reports, policy memoranda, briefs, and guidance for government agencies.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Experience gathering information from and facilitating groups of diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

Background Checks/Clearances

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $59,580.00 - $86,400.00. Salary Structure - Information on Penn State's salary structure

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
