The Education Research Consulting Manager, Academic Medical Center Specialist will serve in an outward-facing, hands-on, and multi-faceted role combining project/engagement management, team leadership, and material interaction with clients at both tactical and strategic levels. This role focuses on Academic Medical Center clients and contributes significantly to the continued build-out and growth of the Education Research team.

The Manager will impact client deliverables and communication, supporting transformational initiatives, strategic planning/education, and strategic reviews during leadership transitions. They will blend a passion for Education Research with business acumen to shape, develop, and deliver insightful analysis and solutions that anticipate or outpace industry needs and trends. The Manager acts as the direct liaison between the client and the Huron team, creating and maintaining relationships with Education Research leaders while building, fostering, and leading a team within Huron to achieve goals and present results.

Managers also mentor junior staff, sharing expertise, feedback, and encouragement, promoting a culture of respect, unity, collaboration, and personal achievement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead projects/engagements, ensuring alignment with client goals, visions, and missions.
• Serve as the direct liaison between clients and the Huron team, building long-standing partnerships.
• Contribute to transformational initiatives, strategic planning, and leadership transitions for Academic Medical Center clients.
• Shape, develop, and deliver insightful analysis and solutions that anticipate or outpace industry trends.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development in both project-management and technical dimensions.
• Translate information from meetings into documentation for participants and project teams.
• Manage multiple projects of differing scale and duration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive experience with Academic Medical Centers.
• Experience with human resources within an Academic Medical Center.
• Experience with administrative support services, faculty compensation, and fund flow.
• Willingness and ability to travel on a 50% basis annually.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills to establish trust and collaboration quickly.
• Strong analytical skills to translate meeting information into shareable documentation.
• Ability to participate in the professional development of Huron staff.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this job is $140,000 - $185,000 at the Manager level and $175,000 - $225,000 at the Director level. The range represents a good faith estimate of the salary Huron reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual salary will vary based on skills, certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.

This role is eligible for Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, reflecting a pay-for-performance philosophy. Inclusive of the annual incentive, the total estimated compensation range is $161,000 - $231,250 at the Manager level and $218,750 - $303,750 at the Director level.
