About the role
The Administrative Manager for Perioperative Services oversees educational programs for Perioperative Services, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing daily operations, promoting a positive work environment, and holding supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Leader: Develops staff, participates in hiring and training, establishes departmental goals and priorities, assesses performance, and provides feedback. Serves as a role model for education and professional nursing practice.
- Consultant: Serves as an educational consultant, responds to regulatory mandates, and collaborates with interprofessional teams to implement clinical standards and safety initiatives.
- Educator: Identifies and evaluates instructional materials, adjusts content and teaching strategies, and develops core education for nurses at all stages of their career development.
- Researcher: Supports the integration of research into practice, conducts and contributes to nursing research, and interprets and communicates research findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Graduate of a state-approved school of Nursing
- 2 years of management or nursing leadership experience in the perioperative area
- 4 years of experience as an OR RN
- Strong critical and strategic thinking, analytical, and planning skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Values diversity and teamwork
- Demonstrates integrity, initiative, creativity, flexibility, and tolerance for change
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet access
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field, or in progress
