Job Description
The Education Coordinator Respiratory reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for providing respiratory staff education and competencies (minimum 4 annually)
- Coordinates and oversees all department orientations
- Is accountable for ensuring the delivery of quality patient care performed by the respiratory team
- Provides education for healthcare partners (nursing teams, other therapies)
- Captures and implements educational strategies
- Participates in multidisciplinary quality initiatives to enhance clinical care and patient outcomes
- Works collaboratively with the Academy, peers, the Department of Professional Development and the Shared Leadership Committees to identify learning needs
Qualifications
- Required: 5 Years of Experience in Critical Care
- Required: Bachelor's Degree or Currently Enrolled in a Program (must complete within three years)
- Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Required: Active Illinois Respiratory Care License
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Required: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Required: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - only required for hospitals with a NICU/SCN
- Preferred: Master’s Degree
- Preferred: Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS)
- Preferred: Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS)
- Preferred: 3 Years of Experience in a PICU/Level III NICU
