About the role

The mission of the South Carolina Department of Education is to serve students, support teachers, empower parents, and engage the community so that every student graduates prepared to reach their full potential.

Serves as the state's Multilingual Education Program coordinator to implement, oversee, and promote the continuous improvement of the Language Instruction for English Learners and Immigrant Students program in accordance with Title III, Part A Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, as amended.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate programmatic planning and implementation of Title III, Part A.
• Serve as a resource to South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE), state government agencies, and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) for matters regarding Title III, Part A, multilingual learners, and immigrant students.
• Provide direct, ongoing technical assistance to LEAs and to increase compliance and ensure continuous improvement of the Title III,
