Job Responsibilities

Supervise, monitor, observe, and evaluate assigned certified teaching staff to ensure effective instructional practices and alignment with program goals.

Develop, implement, and manage a system for regular teacher observations and teaching quality reviews utilizing both data and direct observation.

Provide timely, actionable feedback to instructional staff and communicate performance insights to the Teaching & Learning Team Leader.

Data-Driven Instructional Support

Analyze performance data, observation trends, and instructional practices to identify areas for growth and improvement.

Collaborate with Teaching & Learning Team members, faculty, and Curriculum Team staff to ensure courses are teachable within VirtualSC policies and structures.

Recommend adjustments to instructional resources, policies, or practices when misalignment impacts teaching and learning outcomes.

Teacher Support & Communication

Serve as a point of support for parent concerns related to assigned teaching staff, addressing issues and escalating ongoing concerns as needed.

Foster strong communication with instructional staff to support professional growth, accountability, and consistency in expectations.

Scheduling & Staffing Collaboration

Collaborate with Supervisors of Teacher Quality and Teaching & Learning Team members to review and refine the master teacher scheduling process.

Ensure appropriate certified teacher coverage based on course needs and program demands.

Analyze program growth trends and staffing data to identify hiring needs.

Hiring & Onboarding

Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and recommending qualified teaching candidates for hire.

Support onboarding and offboarding processes for full-time instructional staff in collaboration with Teaching & Learning Support Team members.

Provide ongoing feedback to leadership throughout the hiring and onboarding process.

Operational Oversight

Manage and oversee temporary employee payment processes for assigned staff.

Ensure compliance with organizational procedures and maintain accurate documentation related to staffing and instructional oversight.

Professional Development & Team Collaboration

Partner with the Teaching & Learning Team to cultivate a collaborative, innovative, and growth-focused work environment.

Identify professional development needs based on teacher evaluations and observations and recommend targeted training opportunities.

Support the mentoring and development of instructional staff to improve overall teaching quality.

Additional Duties

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Teaching & Learning Team Leader.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.
  • A master's degree in education and experience in education, management, or educational administration (preferred).
  • Experience with or knowledge of virtual education principles (preferred).
  • A current South Carolina teacher or administrator certification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and technology integration in secondary education.

Additional Comments

Limit overnight travel may be required.
