This position is set to start on September 14th and runs from August through May, with summers off. Work schedule is 16-18 hours per week.

About the role

Assist classroom staff with daily routine operations such as assisting with child drop-off and pick-up times, meal and snack preparation, school bus monitoring, and providing staff break times.

At CPCD, we provide more than 1,100 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Pay

Pay scale is structured in steps:

  • Step 1: High school diploma or equivalent & relevant experience – $16.16/hr.
  • Step 2: Level 1 Credential – $16.26/hr.
  • Step 3: CDA or Level 2 – $17.06/hr.
  • Step 4: Teacher Certification or DQ – $17.41/hr.

Requirements

Required:

  • Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work with multiple staff members in one setting.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must obtain and maintain adult/infant CPR and first aid certification within 90-days of employment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation with minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado; to perform functions of the job, including being able to go to another location during the workday if necessary.

Preferred:

  • At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age three and/or to age five.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.
  • CACFP food training.
  • Bus Safety Training.
