As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don’t. You understand the nuances of complex situations and use your skills to think bigger, push further, and solve complex problems. We’re looking for someone like you to help create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe.

About the role

Supporting the Joint Staff, you will help shape the future of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) for the Armed Forces. Modern military education requires more than policy knowledge—it demands precise coordination, expert analysis, senior-level communication, and mission-focused execution. In this role, you will provide daily support to JPME programs, advise senior leaders, facilitate high-visibility working groups, and contribute to national-level education policy that impacts the entire Joint Force.

You will analyze, prepare, coordinate, and evaluate education programs and policy documents, ensuring JPME compliance with Chairman's directives, supporting doctrine and education integration, and enabling the mission of developing world-class joint warfighters. This is your chance to apply your operational, analytical, and leadership expertise to a mission that directly strengthens the nation’s strategic readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Joint and Service staff organizations, including their functions, missions, and interrelationships
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings either in written format or verbally at meetings, conferences, and working groups
  • Experience developing surveys, collecting and viewing data, performing data searches and analytical analysis, and generating reports to determine courses of action
  • Experience in Outcomes-based education to advise program and senior leaders
  • Experience with human capital, data analysis, and professional development
  • Ability to deliver high-quality written and verbal communication to senior military and civilian leaders, including general or flag officer levels
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Master’s degree and 4+ years of experience supporting military education or senior-level headquarters organizations, or Doctorate degree

Nice to have

  • Experience as Joint Staff at the field grade or above or a civilian equivalent
  • Experience in JPME as a former student, faculty, or in an institutional effectiveness role
  • Experience developing or assessing Joint Education programs, accreditation materials, and senior-level education policies
  • Experience coordinating with DoD educational institutions, curriculum developers, accreditation bodies, or senior-level working groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate complex and highly technical education matters clearly to broad audiences
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and speaking skills

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
