This position with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Food and Nutrition, plays a key role in supporting statewide school nutrition efforts. The role provides an energetic, mission-driven environment where your leadership supports compliance, outreach, and positive outcomes for schools across the Commonwealth.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Analysis: Evaluate federal and state regulations and apply methods that support compliance.
  • Policy Review: Identify gaps in policies and procedures and develop improvements.
  • Data Reporting: Compile complex data reports and respond to inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Program Outreach: Analyze participation data and create outreach plans to expand engagement.
  • Technical Guidance: Represent the agency and provide expertise to help sponsors understand requirements.
  • System Oversight: Support CN PEARS and other technology systems and assist with system updates.

Schedule

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Part-time telework may be available. Staff must report to the worksite one day a week (Thursday). To telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Telework eligibility is subject to change.

Pay

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at an annual salary of $69,086.00 (before taxes).

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience and Training:
    • One year of experience as an Education Administration Associate; or
    • Four years of professional experience in education including at least two years in educational administration; or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
