About the role
El Camino Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team. This position requires a combination of clinical care and patient support responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department
- Rotate to oversee patients and families in the ED waiting area
- Assist patients upon arrival
- Support and provide information to patients, families and staff
- Identify medical necessity for patients
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
- Exceptional people skills and ability to function calmly in stressful situations
- Adaptability, prioritization, and fast-paced environment skills
- National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program
- Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
- National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
- Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
Ages of Patients Served
This position is responsible for the care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Pay
$38.49 - $48.66 USD Hour
Schedule
FTE 0.8 Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 64 Work Shift Day: 8 hours
