ED Technician - Emergency Department - Full Time Night + Rotating Weekends & Holidays

About the Role

Emergency Department Technicians (Patient Care Techs) at NewYork‑Presbyterian Queens provide essential care in a Level I Trauma Center and designated 911 receiving hospital. The ED offers around‑the‑clock access to a trauma surgeon, operating rooms, and every surgical subspecialty.

• Provide compassionate basic patient care and assist with daily living activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Collect data elements and communicate observations to the RN, including vital signs, telemetry surveillance, EKGs, and glucose finger‑stick measurements.
• Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
• Demonstrate teamwork and raise the bar for patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required prior to start date).
• At least one (1) year experience as an EKG Technician, Nursing Attendant, or equivalent.
• Certification in one of the following: EKG/Arrhythmia certificate, Medical Technician certificate, EMT/Paramedic certificate.
• Must achieve competency in all performance functions (e.g., telemetry, phlebotomy) within the probationary period.

Schedule

Full‑time Night FLEX shift – 37.5 hours per week, 7 pm to 8:15 am. Rotating weekends and holidays.

Pay

Salary range: $33.67 – $36.01 per hour.
