CHA Everett Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Emergency Department (EH).
About the role
The position is a full-time, 20+ hours per week, non-exempt, non-union position.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Answer phones
- Perform order entry
- Phlebotomy (required)
- Point of care testing
- Work under the direction of a registered nurse
- Ideal customer relations skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
- Understand and integrate into the delivery of patient care the needs of specific ages in regard to their growth and development
- Able to organize daily work, prioritize, and make decisions concerning care to meet the needs of individual and groups of patients
- Assist in the care and safety of all patients including behavioral health patients
- Able to adhere to and administer treatment according to Cambridge Health Alliance's policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certificate of completion of a certified nursing assistant program in Massachusetts, or medical assistant diploma
- One year Phlebotomy preferred
- Must successfully complete a job specific physical agility exam
Qualifications/Experience
- Emergency Room Experience Required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required
