ED Technician - 3p-11:30p
Location: CHA Everett Hospital – Emergency Department. Part-time position (32 hours/week) with evening shift: 3 pm–11:30 pm. Eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires; pro-rated for part-time employees.
About the role
CHA provides 24-hour emergency care at our Cambridge and Everett Hospitals. We are one of the busiest emergency services in Massachusetts with approximately 100,000 combined annual visits and have been recognized nationally as one of the most efficient emergency services in the nation. Highlights include a state-of-the-art patient triage and tracking system, a streamlined admission process, rapid assessment protocol, a BIDMC tele-stroke program, and an integrated Psychiatric Emergency Services at Cambridge Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Answer phones and perform order entry
- Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing under the direction of a registered nurse
- Exhibit excellent customer relations skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
- Integrate the needs of specific age groups into patient care delivery
- Organize daily work, prioritize, and make decisions concerning care for individual and groups of patients
- Assist in the care and safety of all patients, including behavioral health patients
- Adhere to and administer treatment according to Cambridge Health Alliance policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certificate of completion of a certified nursing assistant program in Massachusetts, or medical assistant diploma
- Nursing student who has completed a clinical rotation or EMT certification will also be considered
- Emergency Room experience highly preferred
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
- One year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Must successfully complete a job-specific physical agility exam
