ED Tech | UF Health Jax Emergency Department | Full-time, Part-time, and PRN available | Variable Shifts

Responsibilities

• Necessary Skills: Knowledge of patient care and basic human needs within life span.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques
• Knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes
• Basic knowledge of anatomic structure and human body systems
• Ability to recognize obvious job-related emergencies
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Read and write in English
• Recognition of lethal EKG rhythms
• Performance of electrocardiograms
• IV insertion
• Urinary catheter insertion
• Gastric tube insertion
• Phlebotomy
• Basic wound care
• Splinting of musculoskeletal injuries
• Automatic External Defibrillator operation
• Chest compressions
• Eye irrigation

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Training
• Required Licensure/Certifications: Current Florida EMT license -OR- current Florida Paramedic license BLS from the American Heart Association

Required Experience

• Less than 1 year of practical clinical experience.

Preferred Experience

• 1 or more years previous experience in a health care environment.
