ED Tech - La Jolla - Casual / Per diem
About the role
Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924, providing distinguished care with several nationally ranked specialty programs. It was the first in San Diego to be designated a Magnet Hospital by the American Nursing Association and shares a campus with the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center (a Level I Trauma Center) and the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. Notable specialty programs include cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit), and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center. As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), you will support the emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed, assisting nurses and physicians in their functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessment of vital signs
- Apply thermal applications
- Administer non‑sterile soaks
- Apply simple dressings and splints
- Collect stool and urine specimens
- Transport patients
- Provide coverage for the unit secretary
Requirements
- State Issued (CA) Certified EMT or CNA
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certification through the American Heart Association
Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience in emergency services
Pay
Position Pay Range: $25.95‑$32.56/hour
Schedule
12‑Hour Varied Shift (Casual / Per diem)
