About the role
Support youth with behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges in special needs classrooms. Collaborate with teachers and clinical professionals as part of a comprehensive treatment team. This full-time position spans the regular school year plus a 28-day summer program. Classroom placements are based on skill and experience, and all new hires receive a two-week orientation at Spurwink's training center in Portland.
Responsibilities
- Support students with treatment goals and educational services throughout their school day.
- Provide supervision and crisis intervention with students as needed.
- Provide and supervise activities for students.
- Work closely with a team of clinical professionals.
Requirements
- Must have, or be eligible for, Maine Department of Education Educational Technician III certification by either:
- Earning a bachelor's degree (preferred), or
- Earning a minimum of 90 college credits from an accredited university (required).
Pay
$22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on experience and other job criteria.
