Responsibilities
- Identifies patient and family education needs and collaborates with other disciplines to initiate education needs according to the age of the patient.
- Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plans.
- Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center.
- Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
- Lives by Iberia Medical Center's Standards of Performance.
- Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.
- Safely transports and notifies staff of inpatient admits brought to assigned rooms.
- Correctly enters all patients in the ER logbook.
- Collects urine, stool, sputum specimens and transports to lab.
- Restocks and cleans ER rooms.
- Assists staff with computer order entry.
- Assists patients with eating, mobility, dressing, and toileting.
- Assists staff with obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Computer entry of patient charges.
- Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Previous experience preferred, but not required.
