Responsibilities

• Identifies patient and family education needs and collaborates with other disciplines to initiate education needs according to the age of the patient.
• Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plans.
• Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center.
• Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
• Lives by Iberia Medical Center's Standards of Performance.
• Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.
• Safely transports and notifies staff of inpatient admits brought to assigned rooms.
• Correctly enters all patients in the ER logbook.
• Collects urine, stool, sputum specimens and transports to lab.
• Restocks and cleans ER rooms.
• Assists staff with computer order entry.
• Assists patients with eating, mobility, dressing, and toileting.
• Assists staff with obtaining and recording vital signs.
• Computer entry of patient charges.
• Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
• Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Previous experience preferred, but not required.
