Job Purpose
EdTechs provide support services to teachers and students through implementing various techniques.
Position Overview
The position is under the supervision of the Head of School.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Work with individual students or small groups to review and reinforce learning.
- Review and understand IEPs, 504 Plans, and PLPs to implement accommodations and modifications.
- Devise special strategies based on students' needs, interests, and abilities.
- Act as a team player with educators and content specialists.
- Maintain a professional, positive attitude and rapport with children, parents, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with IEP, 504, PLP, or other student-centered teams.
- Support teachers by grading papers and assisting with administrative duties.
- Attend orientation and training as required.
- Follow behavior intervention plans and assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- State of Maine teacher certification and/or authorization as an Educational Technician.
- Possess working knowledge of disabilities and special education methods.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Pass a CHRC certificate through the Maine Department of Education and maintain a clear criminal history.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The position requires mental and emotional stability, moderate noise levels, and the ability to perform upper and lower body movements.
