ED Clinical Social Worker, Emergency Dept FT Nights 12 Hour (M-T 7p-7:30a, W 6p-6:30a)

About the role

The ED Clinical Social Worker, MSW at PIH Health interviews and evaluates patients and family members to identify social, emotional, and economic factors that may interfere with their medical care. They develop and implement a social work treatment plan, select and utilize community resources, make referrals to other professionals or agencies, and provide psycho-social therapy.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a social work treatment plan for patients and family members.
• Selects and utilizes community resources as part of the treatment plan.
• Makes referrals to and coordinates with other professional disciplines or agencies.
• Provides psycho-social therapy using a variety of treatment methods.
• Participates in multidisciplinary health team conferences to formulate overall patient care plans.
• Collaborates with the RN Case Manager to determine level of care needs beyond acute/emergency care.
• Supports patients and families in making decisions about their care and transitions to the next level of care and services.
• Responsible for additional duties as assigned by the Director, including clinical supervision, documentation review, precepting MSW students, and staff education/training.

Requirements

• Demonstrated skill in patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, policies, and protocols.
• Sound decision-making and prioritization skills.
• Utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patients/significant others.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work.
• Experience in healthcare preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency with main-frame and personal computers.

Benefits

PIH Health offers competitive compensation and benefits, including:

• Salary range: $35,000 - $57,500 per year.
• Nights shift.

Pay

$35.00 - $57.50 per hour.
