Patient Care
- Aids in the collection of patient data during intake and admission.
- Completes an inventory of personal items and wanders patient/ belongings upon arrival.
- Acts as part of the care team, conducting supervised clothing changes and ensuring patient safety.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, observing and addressing patient indicators of escalation or risk.
- Supports visitation guidelines and policies.
- May assist with the role of patient care partner, supporting the main ED triage function as needed.
- Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dietary, escorting off unit).
- Completes patient documentation and vital sign measurements as delegated.
- Applies and removes physical restraints under direction of medical providers or nurses.
- Collaborates with the care team to contribute to safe observations and care plans.
- Utilizes de-escalation techniques and assists with procedural holds.
- Obtains and tests specimens and performs EKGs.
Operations & Environment
- Rounds continuously to observe and intervene in escalating situations.
- Maintains a clean and organized department environment.
- Performs daily safety checks and restocking functions.
- Attends post-restraint huddles.

- Establishes effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and external customers/consultants.
