Early Childhood Special Education position providing speech and language services and consultation to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers within the home setting. This position follows a stretch calendar and is 0.75 FTE, beginning at the start of the 2026-27 school year.

About the Role

Provide speech and language services to three-, four-, and five-year-olds in an early childhood special education setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Using appropriate assessment tools to evaluate students, interpret results, write evaluation reports, and determine eligibility for speech and language services per Minnesota state criteria
  • Gathering and organizing information to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Working collaboratively with families and other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Supporting a positive learning environment
  • Carrying out responsibilities as defined by the master contract and supervisor
  • Traveling between sites as required (reimbursed per district policies)
  • Collaborating to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, including performing necessary delegated health tasks

Requirements

  • Current PreK-12 Speech/Language Pathologist Licensure through the Minnesota Department of Education
  • Master’s degree as a Speech/Language Pathologist
  • Experience implementing intervention strategies and using augmentative and assistive technology with 3-5 year olds with speech and language disabilities
  • Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community
  • Knowledge of working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and families
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community (preferred)
