About the role
AlixPartners’ Economics team supports our Risk Advisory practice by delivering sharp, data-driven economic insights. The role combines rigorous economic theory with hands-on investigative work to solve complex, real-world challenges for clients. You will work in a hybrid model that includes both in-person (client site or AlixPartners office) and remote work; travel frequency varies by project.
Responsibilities
- Manage large, complex data sets and perform investigative data analysis.
- Apply peer-reviewed economic theory to real-world issues and formulate testable hypotheses.
- Organize documents and work papers; prepare supporting materials for expert reports and client deliverables.
- Review and summarize litigation materials such as depositions, financial statements, and client data.
- Draft written reports and prepare presentation materials.
- Perform quality-control reviews of work product.
- Use client data to develop actionable business recommendations across functional areas.
- Develop and assess business projections and forecasts.
- Communicate findings to clients and colleagues in both written and oral form.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, or a related field (preferred).
- At least one year of professional experience in an economics consulting firm or financial services firm (preferred).
- Experience and/or deep interest in financial markets, risk management, and trading.
- Quantitative and programming skills; proficiency in Stata, R, Python, SAS, Excel, Bloomberg Terminal, or FactSet.
- Strong project-management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to think critically and creatively.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply training to time-sensitive, dynamic situations.
- Comfort working under pressure and outside normal U.S. business hours as projects require.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
- Ability to work full-time in both office and remote settings; physically able to sit/stand at a computer for extended periods.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 – $130,000 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
Locations: New York or Washington, DC.
