About the Role
This position receives, inspects, lists, and ships donated items for online sale. The role requires adherence to divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations, with a focus on action orientation, customer focus, composure, and time management.
Responsibilities
- Research potential merchandise using the internet, published guidelines, and expert consultation to determine type, function, fair market value, vintage/antique eligibility, brand, authenticity, and salability for online markets. Update the online manifest system as needed.
- Take clear, detailed photographs of items to showcase appearance, condition, size, color, shape, composition, brand, model, and other descriptive details for potential customers.
- Write persuasive sales copy that provides comprehensive details about the item’s appearance, condition, size, material, weight, color, shape, brand, model, and other relevant factors.
- Post items for sale on platforms such as eBay, Shopgoodwill.com, and other online markets using designated systems.
- Sort, retrieve, and prepare merchandise for shipping, including packaging, labeling, and staging items according to size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Maintain accurate records of items posted, sold, sales price, inventory, origin, and destination using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email in a timely manner and facilitate onsite pickup of purchased items.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, to move products within and outside the warehouse.
- Coordinate and communicate with retail store Ecommerce representatives regarding items sent from their locations.
- Maintain a quick and efficient work pace to meet posting quotas while adhering to Goodwill uniform standards.
- Assist with warehouse logistics as assigned and follow all policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
- At least six months of relevant work experience in retail, warehouse, Ecommerce, or a similar customer-service environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong internet skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to quickly learn Ecommerce requirements.
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently while adhering to departmental quotas.
- Strong organizational skills, responsibility, and reliability.
- Ability to list and post products online in English and conduct reliable internet-based research.
- Familiarity with basic photographic principles, including operating a mid-level digital camera and uploading photos to a computer.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to temperature extremes (hot in summer, cold in winter), moderate dust, and noise.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and push/pull merchandise up to 200 pounds using warehouse equipment.
- Access to reliable transportation to accommodate a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous work experience in Ecommerce, warehouse, or retail environments.
