About the role

Central Garden & Pet is seeking an Ecommerce Content Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day content health and performance of its equine brand portfolio across retailer platforms. The role is hands‑on and data‑driven, requiring expertise in creating winning product detail pages (PDPs) and linking content decisions to traffic, conversion, and buy‑box outcomes. You will act as the connective tissue between brand marketing, agency partners, and retail channels to ensure the equine portfolio appears correctly, converts efficiently, and remains competitive. This position offers significant visibility into omnichannel strategy for a portfolio with 80 years of category leadership. The job is based in the Phoenix, AZ corporate office with a hybrid work schedule of four (4) in‑office days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end PDP content across Amazon (Vendor Central/Seller Central), Chewy, Walmart, Tractor Supply — including titles, bullets, descriptions, A+ / Premium A+ content, brand stores, and image/video assets.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent product listings, content, and digital assets.
  • Own the content calendar and intake process, partnering with BU marketing and the agency on briefs, SLAs, and asset handoffs.
  • Maintain a centralized PIM/Salsify workflow as the single source of truth for product attributes, copy, and creative across channels.
  • Manage storefront content, collections, and product pages.
  • Ensure alignment with brand guidelines while adapting to retailer‑specific best practices.
  • Pull, analyze, and act on Vendor Central/Seller Central reports — Brand Analytics, Search Query Performance, traffic and conversion metrics, Buy Box %, ASIN‑level glance views and unit session percentage.
  • Identify underperforming ASINs and build hypotheses to test (content, imagery, keyword targeting, pricing visibility).
  • Own the Amazon A/B testing roadmap (Manage Your Experiments) — prioritize tests, document results, and roll learnings across the portfolio.
  • Track competitor content moves and surface implications.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing on new product launches — content readiness, Vine review velocity, keyword strategy, launch QA.
  • Work with the Ecommerce team on AI/agentic commerce visibility (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Rufus) and content optimization for AI extractability.
  • Coordinate with the agency on creative production and content refresh cycles.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in ecommerce content management, with at least 3 years working directly in Vendor Central and/or Seller Central.
  • Demonstrated experience pulling and interpreting Amazon reports — Brand Analytics, Search Query Performance, Search Terms, Business Reports, traffic and conversion data.
  • Hands‑on experience running A/B tests and translating results into portfolio‑wide changes.
  • Working knowledge of a PIM or DAM system — Salsify strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, comfort with large datasets).
  • Excellent written communication and editorial eye — tight writing is essential.
  • Preferred: Experience with Chewy, Walmart Connect, or Tractor Supply portals.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Stackline, Profitero, Helium 10, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Preferred: Background in pet or CPG.
  • Preferred: Shopify experience (product, collection, and content management; Liquid familiarity a plus).
  • Preferred: Experience with AI search/agentic commerce optimization.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Free Life and Disability Insurance
  • Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401k with 3% company match and annual employer discretionary contribution
  • Paid vacation, holidays and sick time
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Access to thousands of free online courses
  • Discounts on cell phones, movie tickets, gym memberships, and more!
  • Education Assistance (both college degrees and professional certifications)
