ECMO Specialist

About the role

The ECMO specialist is responsible for developing and executing treatment plans for ECMO patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and education. They collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret and adjust patient care specific to ECMO therapy.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient assessment, treatment planning, and education related to ECMO therapy.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and completion of ECMO training or formal education in Extracorporeal Circulation.
• Valid license: Registered Nursing License (Texas), RRT (Respiratory Therapist), or Certified Perfusionist.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.
