About the role

The ECMO specialist plays a vital role in developing and executing treatment plans for ECMO patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and education. They collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret, adjust, and complete patient care specific to ECMO therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and adjustment of ECMO treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient care.
  • Provide education related to ECMO procedures and patient management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and completion of a designated ECMO training program or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation.
  • Valid licensure such as Registered Nursing License, RRT, or Certified Perfusion License.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.

  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal ECMO patient outcomes
