About the Role
Provides advanced clinical expertise in Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS), Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and respiratory care for critically ill patients. Acts as a technical resource for ECMO equipment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care. Participates in unit-based committees, mentors staff, and supports research initiatives to enhance the ECMO program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care.
- Manage ECMO and VAD equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
- Contribute to best practices and research to advance the ECMO program.
- Participate in unit-based committees.
- Mentor staff.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Completion of ECMO training per ELSO standards or enrollment in such program.
- Minimum five years of clinical experience in age-specific critical care.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (NBRC).
- Current state-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensure.
- Current BLS certification; PALS, NRP, STABLE, and ACLS as applicable.
