About the Role

Provides advanced clinical expertise in Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS), Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), and respiratory care for critically ill patients. Acts as a technical resource for ECMO equipment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care. Participates in unit-based committees, mentors staff, and supports research initiatives to enhance the ECMO program.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care.
  • Manage ECMO and VAD equipment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
  • Contribute to best practices and research to advance the ECMO program.
  • Participate in unit-based committees.
  • Mentor staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Completion of ECMO training per ELSO standards or enrollment in such program.
  • Minimum five years of clinical experience in age-specific critical care.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (NBRC).
  • Current state-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensure.
  • Current BLS certification; PALS, NRP, STABLE, and ACLS as applicable.
