Echocardiology Technician PRN

About the role

As an Echocardiology Technician at Havasu Regional Medical Center, you will contribute to a mission of making communities healthier. Your responsibilities include performing Echo procedures, reviewing patient history, educating patients, preparing and administering contrast media, monitoring patient conditions, and analyzing results.

Responsibilities

• Perform Echo procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Review patient history and physician’s orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medication within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
• Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunction as necessary.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedure(s).
• Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Requirements

• Graduate with an associate's degree.
• BLS certification.
• Current echo registry.
• Echo certification registered or registry eligible within one year of employment or transfer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in echocardiography preferred.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
