Echocardiographer - PRN

Responsibilities

• Perform various echocardiograms (2D, M-Mode, Doppler, transesophageal, stress echo) following established standards.
• Ensure patient safety, proper identification, and a safe environment.
• Prepare patients, operate advanced ultrasound equipment, and support quality assurance.
• Maintain accurate records for billing and clinical review.
• Prioritize STAT and routine procedures, demonstrate technical proficiency, and utilize critical thinking to assist cardiologists.
• Manage supplies within budget and participate in mandatory education.
• Foster professional relationships, resolve conflicts, and work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or accredited training preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Certifications: BLS mandatory; ACLS preferred.
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required.
• Experience with Philips echocardiography systems, TEE probes, and Epic is preferred.
• Effective communication, computer, and typing skills are desirable.
• One year hospital experience preferred.

Key Duties

• Ensure patient privacy, maintain organized environment, support department quality metrics, and demonstrate sound knowledge in emergency response.
• Participate in ongoing education and handle patient preparation, including monitoring compliance and equipment setup.
• Adapt to different age groups and work flexible hours, including weekends and variable shifts.
