Echocardiographer - PRN

About the role

Responsible for performing various echocardiograms, including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, transesophageal, and stress echo, ensuring high technical standards under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate echocardiographic procedures and prepare worksheets for physician review.
• Ensure patient safety, proper identification, and a therapeutic environment.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and documentation for billing and quality assurance.
• Assist with patient preparation, including monitoring and privacy.
• Support departmental quality processes and participate in ongoing education.
• Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating technical proficiency, critical thinking, and effective communication.
• Prioritize STAT and routine orders, resolve conflicts professionally, and adhere to universal precautions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited echo program or possess a high school diploma/GED.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification required.
• Experience with echocardiography equipment and hospital settings preferred.

Skills

• Effective interpersonal, computer, and organizational skills.
