Echocardiographer

Employment Type: Full time, 40 hours per week – Day Shift

About the Role

Responsible for performing a variety of cardiac procedures including 2D ECHO’s, Stress Echo’s, Bubble Studies, Holters, and EKG’s.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound and stress echocardiograms following American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines.
• Perform EKG’s, Event, and Holter monitors.
• Assist with department patient workflow and facilitating throughput by starting IVs as needed.
• Provide quality patient care by considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
• Demonstrate unit/area competencies.
• Identify and assist in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation, and maintenance of the environment.
• Maintain knowledge of all ASE guidelines.
• Have experience with Microsoft Professional.
• Maintain Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) standards.
• Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships.
• Approach conflict in a constructive manner; help identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
• Maintain confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be registered or registry eligible; certification must be obtained within one year of hire date by an accredited credentialing body, such as the ARDMS or CCI.
• Completion of a formal program in diagnostic medical sonography or experienced with current registry status.
• Responsible for educational needs in accordance with license.
• ACLS required.
