About the Role
Responsible for performing a variety of cardiac procedures including 2D ECHO’s, Stress Echo’s, Bubble Studies, Holters, and EKG’s.
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac ultrasound and stress echocardiograms following American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines.
- Perform EKG’s, Event, and Holter monitors.
- Assist with department patient workflow and facilitating throughput by starting IVs as needed.
- Provide quality patient care by considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
- Demonstrate unit/area competencies.
- Identify and assist in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation, and maintenance of the environment.
- Maintain knowledge of all ASE guidelines.
- Have experience with Microsoft Professional.
- Maintain Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) standards.
- Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships.
- Approach conflict in a constructive manner; help identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
- Maintain confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be registered or registry eligible; certification must be obtained within one year of hire date by an accredited credentialing body, such as the ARDMS or CCI.
- Completion of a formal program in diagnostic medical sonography or experienced with current registry status.
- Responsible for educational needs in accordance with license.
- ACLS required.
