Echocardiographer
About the Role
As an Echo Technologist at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, you will perform all established echocardiography procedures. You will communicate the nature of the procedure to patients, address their questions or concerns, and recognize sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissue, structures, and blood flow. You will adjust scanning techniques to optimize image quality and spectral waveform, analyze sonographic findings throughout the examination, and initiate additional scanning techniques or administer contrast agents as indicated. You will also perform stress echo testing when needed and work in partnership with other healthcare professionals to provide the best medical care possible for all patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program
- RDS eligible or registered
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiac/echo sonographer experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
