ECHOCARDIOGRAM TECHNICIAN - Full-time, M-F/8-5

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs quality echocardiograms, recognizing abnormalities, and obtains appropriate measurements and calculations.
• Writes technical preliminary reports and confers with doctors on abnormal results.
• Preps treadmill stress patients and assists physician with functions related to stress testing according to department policy/procedure.
• Applies holter monitor recorder and performs holter tape analysis according to department policy/procedure.
• Works within the EMR to gather needed information prior to testing.
• Reviews final reports before sending to referring physician.
• Maintains proper care of equipment between preventative maintenance checks.
• Performs office duties/other paperwork to ensure efficient operation of the department which includes proper completion of charge tickets before sending to billing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• EKG, Holter Monitor, Stress Test, and echocardiogram procedure knowledge required.
• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
• Sets appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
• Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.

Education

• Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology and registry in Echocardiograms through ARDMS or equivalent registry board.

Preferred

• Cardiovascular anatomy and physiology knowledge along with proper hemodynamics and measurements experience preferred.
