Echocardiographic Technician, Full Time, Day Shift

About the role

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county-designated trauma center.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound technical duties for imaging heart muscle and functions.
  • Creates images of the heart, cardiac chambers, valves and vessels for the purpose of assessing heart functions and diagnoses.
  • Collaborates closely with cardiologists, performing the technical aspects of examinations, evaluating findings and reporting them to cardiologists.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor’s).
  • Currently certified, or eligible to be certified, with a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Echocardiography (ECG) certification.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy.
  • Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Echocardiography (ECG) certification.

Skills

  • Maintains equipment and inventories, restocks supplies, reviews patient schedules, sets up recording equipment and enters patient information into appropriate systems.
  • Maintains job knowledge up to date by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides patient care, which includes preparing patients for sonographic imaging and providing instructions.
  • Performs echocardiography on treadmill patients to assess heart functions.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $46.67 to $69.94. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
