About the role

We are looking for an Echocardiogram/Vascular Technician who will be responsible for using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Duties include but are not limited to calibration and manipulation of equipment for use in appointments, noting any abnormalities, and notifying proper medical personnel. In addition to knowledge of the full anatomy, one must especially be knowledgeable in performing ultrasounds.

Responsibilities

  • Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
  • Report any abnormalities or imaging of concern to the proper medical staff for further inspection
  • Prepare the exam room and equipment necessary before any examinations
  • Maintain sonography equipment and report any failures while performing tests
  • Manage several patients and priorities while maintaining a high level of patient care
  • Perform ultrasounds, echocardiograms, retina screening
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the immediate supervisor
  • Write reports based on scan results
  • Display flexibility in a fast-paced work environment

Qualifications/Education

  • Associate's Degree in medical sonography or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Certified Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Vascular Technologist, or Echocardiogram Technologist is required or must be obtained within 90 days of start date
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred
  • 3+ years of echocardiography and vascular experience
  • Proficiency in performing echocardiograms, including knowledge of anatomy
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to assigned clinics in the DFW area
  • Experience with EMR, eClinicalWorks (eCW), is a plus
  • Must demonstrate exceptional customer service and strive for a positive patient experience
  • Must have effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

Certifications/Licenses

  • ARDMS - Certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist

Benefits

Currently this position would be contract starting with one to two days at our Garland, TX location. As the program expands, it will service all of our locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.
