Assists one or more Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, supervision, and instruction of pre-school aged children, in classrooms, common areas, and playgrounds at a center dedicated to pre-kindergarten children, and in the community. Maintains and prepares classroom and related environments, materials, and control of forms. Assists in developing play-oriented curriculum.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- 6 college units in Early Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field with emphasis on infant to pre-school age children.
- 48 college credit units or passage of a competency assessment (e.g., Paraeducator Proficiency Exam).
- CPR/First Aid certificate with pediatric endorsement.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
Qualifications
- One year of experience in a preschool age enrichment program or child care setting is preferred.
Pay
$19.61 - $25.94 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
Schedule
4 hours/day; 5 days/week. 12-month work year.
