EBAD Test/Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Physical & Lot Acceptance Testing (primarily of explosive / energetic materials):
  • Execute mechanical and functional tests, including Tensile (pull strength)
  • Function / Output / Timing
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
  • Water pressure
  • Temperature conditioning
• Analytical Testing:
  • Perform standard wet chemistry analyses in accordance with approved test methods and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including:
  • Gas Chromatography (GC)
  • High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
  • Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
  • Elemental Analyzer (CHN)
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards
  • Analyze data and document results in laboratory systems and test reports
  • Troubleshoot routine analytical issues and escalate complex problems as needed
  • Safety: Strictly follow all laboratory and explosive safety protocols
  • Properly handle hazardous and energetic materials
  • Participate in required safety and compliance training
  • Support internal, external, and regulatory audits as required

  Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related technical discipline
  • Experience: 1-3 years of laboratory experience preferred
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation strongly preferred
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, defense, chemical, or similar) is a plus
  • Experience working with hazardous or energetic materials is a plus
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong knowledge of basic chemistry principles and laboratory techniques
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures precisely
  • Strong documentation and data integrity practices
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and laboratory data entry
  • Mechanical aptitude for physical testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Comfortable working in dynamic and safety-sensitive manufacturing environment
