Eatery '73- Front Of House Server (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking qualified individuals for the opening of our teaching restaurant, Eatery '73 at Austin Community College. Our ideal candidate is kind, positive, works well with others, and believes in quality, consistency, and a clean, organized environment where respect and dignity are prioritized. Front of House Servers are a crucial part of our restaurant operations and serve as the face of the restaurant’s standard of service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tables are cleared, cleaned, and set for guests to be seated
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of front-of-house dining area, including tables, chairs, counters, and floors during service hours
• Clear plates from vacated tables in a timely fashion and reset tables for new guests
• Refill customer beverages and attend to customer requests (e.g., replacement silverware, napkins, plates, utensils)
• Restock condiments, small wares, ice, beverages, silverware, napkins, placemats, and table settings as needed
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in accordance with ACC Culinary Department’s policies and procedures
• Perform opening and closing duties as needed
• Operate the POS system and handle transactions accurately
• Adhere to all relevant health department rules, regulations, and customer service guidelines

Requirements

• Maintain a positive, energetic, and alert demeanor with a sense of urgency in hospitality and customer service
• Professional communication skills with guests and co-workers
• Well-groomed and professional appearance in accordance with ACC Culinary department standards
• Minimum of 1 year prior culinary or hospitality experience in a front-of-house restaurant or lodging capacity
• Provide references from past employers and agree to an ACC background check
• Prior experience with TOAST POS systems is a plus

Pay

$23.00 per hour, up to 19 hours per week.
