Eastman - Machine Operator

About the role

This position requires adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures, including understanding and following Job Safety Analysis, Energy Safe Procedures, lockout-tagout procedures, and SQF policies for food safety, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
• Accurately read and interpret plant order information (POF) and complete required forms in a timely manner.
• Follow all quality rules and procedures, performing required quality checks on products.
• Determine machine capabilities to ensure production specifications on the POF can be met and verify all materials and parts are available.
• Perform machine setups for production runs as specified on the POF form and other documentation.
• Maintain machine speed and productivity, adjusting as needed.
• Organize Assistant Operators and Inspectors for optimal efficiency and coach employees on production, quality, and safety.
• Perform oil and grease procedures, replace parts, troubleshoot machine issues, and conduct minor equipment repairs.
• Use tools such as hand trucks, drum dollies, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash.
• Read a tape measure and perform basic math operations, including fractions.
• Use computers and understand relevant software.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Previous machine operator experience preferred.
• Ability to work any shift, including weekends, overnights, and overtime as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule

Flexibility to work any day, any shift (including weekends and overnight shifts), and overtime as needed.
