In this role, you will provide technical oversight and support staff resources for projects across all the offices within the region. Coordination with the Construction Field Services Business Group Leads, who serve as the technical delivery leads across their respective business groups and market sectors, will be a key component in the job. This position will also support the continued career development of our delivery staff and closely collaborate with HDR’s Professional Services Directors to implement the various Business Groups’ technical, career growth, and quality initiatives. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will collaborate on technical delivery for cross-business group opportunities and play an important part in recruiting efforts aimed at attracting and retaining eminent talent for our programs across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Construction Field Services growth within your region
  • Balance workload, staffing, and utilization for Construction Field Services staff in your region
  • Identify, manage, and support the resolution of technical field issues at multiple construction sites in your region in collaboration with local staff, contractors, and Owners
  • Participate in regional business class strategic planning, budgeting, and plan implementation
  • Grow, develop, and mentor our Field Office Principals and support the growth of our future leaders within Construction Field Services
  • Collaborate closely with Construction Field Services business group leads and other Regional Business Class Leads to form a partnership focused on successfully pursuing and delivering CFS services to our clients
  • Assist in the development and progression of Construction Field Services strategic partnerships
  • Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring, and improvement of technical competencies of business class staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers, all within direction and goals of business class plans
  • Collaborate on business class efforts with area operations, marketing, and project management
  • Participate in business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams, and activities to continually improve standards and best practices
  • Provide technical oversight and support staff resources across projects
  • Participate in project reviews with a focus on deliverables, risk identification, and management of resources
  • Monitor performance of staff and projects, assist in implementing measures to drive successful project performance, and support in maintaining positive client relations
  • Lead implementation of technical and digital delivery evolution in collaboration with business group CFS leaders
  • Coordinate business processes with the Construction Field Services leadership team consistent with corporate policy and HDR’s matrix of authority (MOA)
  • Implement quality, standards, and best practices in Construction Field Services projects in alignment with the Quality Management System
  • Support the technical learning path development and mentoring
  • Support career path development for Construction Field Services delivery staff
  • Travel up to 50%

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 10 years of related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software
  • Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture
