Early Learning Preschool Teacher
About the role
The Salvation Army Syracuse Area Services is seeking Early Learning Teachers to join their Cab Horse Day Care Center. This position offers an extensive benefits package including compensation up to $22.00-$26.00/hr with applicable certifications, employee discounted day care, health insurance, paid holidays, vacation, sick, personal days, short term and long term disability, 403B & pension plan, tuition remittance program, and paid training loan forgiveness program.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a curriculum addressing both individual children’s and group needs using EHS curriculum.
- Provide supervision, role modeling, and support to all child care staff and volunteers through team meetings, shared program planning, and day-to-day interactions.
- Flexibly work in all classroom environments for children 6 weeks to 3 years of age to meet required classroom ratios.
- Maintain the classroom environment including cleanliness, minor repairs, health and safety issues, inventory, and request supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Clearance through NYS Central Registry is required.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one year experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years.
- An Associates’ Degree is preferred.
- Must meet NYS/Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations requirements.
- Must meet health standards for OCFS licensing, be able to lift up to 40 pounds, and participate in all developmentally appropriate activities.
Our Day Care Environment
Physical contact with children ages six (6) weeks to three (3) years of age. Support program needs by ensuring classroom ratios are met. Daily walks and outdoor activities with the children weather permitting.
