Early Intervention Specialist

About the role

You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers where they can naturally learn and develop. Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.

• Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
• Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
• Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents/guardians with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
• Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Coverage area includes Victorville, Hesperia, Adelanto, Apple Valley, and surrounding/outlying areas of the High Desert.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in health/human services-related major required.
• If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree: May substitute one year of full-time college for each year of experience working/volunteering with children (e.g., two years of full-time college classes plus 2 or more years of experience working directly with children).

Note: If candidate has a Bachelor's degree, then experience may not be required. All experience working and volunteering directly with children must be included on your application or resume.

License:

• Valid CA driver’s license in good standing.
• At least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state).

Vehicle:

• Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage.

Schedule

• Most sessions will be during daytime on weekdays, but some flexibility with availability including some evenings and weekend times may be needed.
• Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours depending on availability and caseload in the area.

Pay

$21.30/hour plus mileage reimbursement.
