About the role

The Early Intervention Developmental Specialist at PIC provides assessment and intervention services to assist children, aged birth through age three, in fostering their growth and development. This position involves working as part of a team to support the development and implementation of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for families in the Anchorage area. Services are typically provided within the family’s home or in natural community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and intervention services to children with developmental delays
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
  • Work as part of a team to provide coaching and support to families
  • Engage with families in various settings to foster developmental and behavioral opportunities
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as early childhood educators, social workers, speech therapists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a Professional Teaching Certificate (or an Initial Certificate with a Pre-K endorsement), or a Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers who have developmental delays.
  • Ability to travel within the Anchorage area to provide services in various locations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of early intervention principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
