About the role

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for various health and social services. The North Carolina Early Intervention Section is part of the Division of Child and Family Well-Being, leading the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
  • Determine families' needs for supports and services
  • Conduct home visits
  • Cook up and monitor other early intervention services
  • Plan for transition to other services at age three

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution
  • Two years of professional experience working with the population served
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution
  • Three years of professional experience working with the population served
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two to three years of professional experience working with the population served. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in the vacancy announcement.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working with children in the age range 0 – 3 and their families, including children with developmental delays
  • Knowledge of young child development, including developmental milestones
  • Experience working with and collaborating with families and other professionals

Pay

The salary grade range is $37,377.00 - $65,408.00, with a recruitment range of $37,377.00 - $50,202.00. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in the vacancy announcement.
